BIOGRAPHY: GINGER HOWARD
If two words could sum up the life and interests of Ginger Howard, they would be faith
and fashion.
Ginger’s faith in God defines her work as the owner of the small boutique, Ginger
Howard Selections, in Buckhead. Ginger is passionate about the importance of modesty
and the beauty of lady-like styles, both of which guide her selections for the fashion-
forward clothes available at her store.
Ginger began her love for fashion and retail in high school in Waycross, GA., where she
worked for a family-owned department store. She graduated from the University of
Georgia with a major in fashion merchandising. While in school, she worked in a small
boutique in Athens, called JJ’s. Following graduation, she stayed in Athens to become the
manager. Then after working in Virginia for a while, Georgia was still “on her mind” and
Ginger returned to Athens and JJ’s for another six years.
Ginger ventured out on her own to begin a Southern buying office representing 25 stores.
She moved to Atlanta in 1996 and started a trunk show business, traveling all over the
Southeast selling beautiful clothes in people’s homes. In March 2001, she opened Ginger
Howard Selections. In March 2021, Ginger relocated her store in Buckhead to East
Andrews Drive and expanded her website presence.
In August of 2020, Ginger co-authored her first book with Alveda King, We’re Not
Colorblind, Healing the Racial Divide. Alveda and Ginger have a heart for unity and
helping others recognize that we are all one race according to Acts 17:26.
Ginger was elected in 2016 to serve as the Republican National Committeewoman for the
state of Georgia. She was re-elected in 2020.
Outside of the store, Ginger invites young women into her home for supper and Bible
study, as she lives out her faith by sharing wisdom from her life experiences and models
faith and purity for these women. Ginger is a member of Church of the Apostles.
